Church's Chicken was founded by George W. Church Sr. in 1952 in Texas. Outside the United States, Church's Chicken trades as Texas Chicken, due to concerns over its association with religion. Church's Chicken was acquired by Popeyes for $330 million in 1989. It operated in Singapore in the 1980s, and was relaunched in 2010 at Singapore Expo.
